PEARL JAM Pen Song About Death of ALICE IN CHAINS Frontman
September 23, 2002PEARL JAM have apparently written a song about the death of ALICE IN CHAINS frontman Layne Staley, according to Britain's Metal Hammer magazine.
The as-yet-untitled track will however not be included on the band's forthcoming studio album, Riot Act, due in November through Epic Records. Frontman Eddie Vedder even went as far as to say that "the song will probably not be released."
Staley was previously a member of PEARL JAM guitarist Mike McCready's grunge supergroup, MAD SEASON, but eventually lost his place in the band due to his continual decline into the heroin addiction which eventually cost him his life.
